Give - Create a Legacy Gift for Future Generations
Your Generosity Will Help Sustain SSHSA
Planned Gifts
You can further the important work of the Steamship Historical Society of America, Inc. in a variety of ways, including through your estate. Planned or deferred gifts enable the Society to plan for the future because they will be realized at some later date. You can make a planned gift by naming the SSHSA as a beneficiary in your Will or by naming the SSHSA as an owner and beneficiary of a fulfilled life insurance policy.
Your attorney can advise you on the various types of charitable trusts and the estate tax benefits of each, and assist you in setting up a planned gift that is tailored to your personal needs. You may also want to talk with your attorney or financial advisor about the tax benefits of naming the SSHSA in your estate. If easier or if help is needed, you may also contact Matthew Schulte, Executive Director, and he'd be happy to provide assistance in helping you accomplish your goals.
Bequests
One of the easiest ways to make a gift to the Steamship Historical Society of America, Inc. is by leaving a bequest in your Will. There are many ways you can do this. Here are a few examples: You can (1) give a specific amount of money to the SSHSA; (2) give a specific item of property to the SSHSA; or (3) give a specified percentage of the residue of your estate to the SSHSA.
